Teaching Training 2010

We are excited to announce the plans for this year’s first Reference Point Therapy Teacher Training.

As you may know we informally certified several of our best students as RPT practitioners during 2009.  These teachers have been an incredible source of support to Val Moore (General Manager of RPT) and myself as we work on the legalities and admin to make RPT an efficient organization.  With their help and input we are now ready to announce the official teacher training program.

At this time we have one confirmed date (North America) and a proposed second date in September-October in Europe.

Dates: 7-11 August 2010 in North America (venue to be confirmed)

Prerequisite: Levels 1&2 with a certified RPT teacher and Level 3 with Simon and Evette.

Content not covered: Familiarity with RPT is assumed PRIOR to the course and wont be covered in detail during the course (i.e. I assume you’ve heard all my stories before!). DVDs of Simon teaching Levels 1 and 2 will be provided as a resource to guide you as you prepare to teach.

Content covered:
The course is an actual teacher training, with focus on presentation skills, building confidence, as well as managing a business and marketing techniques.

At the end of the course successful participants will be licensed to teach RPT Level 1 and 2 for a period of 3 years.

Level 3 teacher certification will also be offered to our best teachers. Please notify us if you are interested. One of the pre-requisites is that you assist us on a Level 3 course as a teacher’s aide within 6 months of the teacher training.

Cost, accommodation and other details will be confirmed once we have confirmed the venue. We are aiming to keep the cost down to a minimum for you.

Please contact our office if you are interested in taking part in this powerful training.

  1. Hi Simon,
Just wondering if there are plans to do the teacher training in Australia (preferably Melbourne!) any time soon?
    Cheers

  2. hi Janet

the answer is yes if there’s sufficient interest and demand. We go where the demand is. Right now there hasn’t been that much demand in Aus, compared to USA. Ironic given where we started, but USA is a bigger base I guess. However that could change after our next Level 3 in May in Melbourne.

If there’s 15 interested people we could certainly run the teacher training in Melbourne. Otherwise Conrad will teach for us this year in Australia and we’ll look to the teacher training perhaps late 2010 or in 2011.

Let’s put the word out and see what we can do for June?!

    blessings

  5. Hi Simon
I would like to know when you will be teaching Level 3 in North America I will be taking Level 2 at end of March with Val and am interested in the teachers in Aug so would like Level 3 prior to that.
Val said that there maybe one in LA in a hotel by LAX, if this is what is being planned would it be possible to be in a quieter, less polluted location for the 12 days. I’m sure a better location for those of us from out of town would be perfered
    Thanks so much Jean

    hi Jean
thanks for your support of RPT.
We have a proposed LA Level 3 start date of 27 June. Val is still confirming the venue, then we’ll publish it on the website.

I completely agree that it shoul be somewhere quieter than LA, but I don’t think it will happen. We need to compromise. Last year we ended up in Anaheim which was perfect for us from out of town, but not good for the LA people. We have to be honest that LA is our strongest hub and we need to cater to the locals and be convenient for the interstate guests. That’s why we are looking at a hotel near to LAX. Val will be able to tell you more.

    thanks again
    Simon
