Simon faces his demons

This is a personal update (not the coherence update which will come tomorrow).

I just wanted to share something with our past graduates which may or may not be of public interest.

I had a “meltdown” in class today, and a real breakthrough.

Today was the day to prove that our new coherence method could heal someone’s eyesight. Instantly. As in no more reading glasses.

This was a personal challenge for me for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s been a public secret till this moment that I recently bought driving glasses as I was noticing a loss of vision at night (I may not be eating enough carrots!).

Second, whilst I’ve had success with eyesight before (I healed my short sightedness 5 years ago and it’s still 90% better than it was then), I have been a bit stuck lately. On a Level 3 course last year I was unable to help a student clear her short-sightedness. I guess it was her “stuff” (i.e. secondary gain) but I felt bad about it. And so did she, since she even asked for her money back on the course!

The reason I’m sharing this is because I want you to know just how far from perfect I am. Just in case anyone thinks, will all this talk of Mastery, that I’m pretending to be a Master. Well, yes, I am just pretending… J

So there I was in class, daring myself to do an instant eyesight healing. And I couldn’t do it. And I realised, the block isn’t her, it’s me. As I’ve said before, there are no real effective healing therapies, only really effective healing therapists. So there I was, faced with having to admit to the class that the reason they weren’t seeing an instant healing was because I was so “in my stuff,” or “in my ego” about past failures – my own need for glasses and the failure in Europe – that I just couldn’t do it.

Luckily for me, the people in this Melbourne class are AWESOME. Really compassionate and loving people; and they humoured me and allowed me to share my failings. With their support I was able to clear the ego and regain my coherence.

The result: our client, Melissa, had an instant healing. She removed her glasses and read perfectly for the first time in over 5 years.

This was the greatest professional challenge I’ve faced as a healing teacher, and I have no shame in admitting it. It was a profound experience.

But wait there’s more… here’s the best bit: We caught it all on video. I’m going to share it (well a short version of it), showing you how 5 minutes of working on Melissa and about 10 minutes of me having a meltdown and working on myself resulted in an instant healing of her eyesight. I didn’t get to edit it today, but it’s one of the coherence videos I’m sharing this week.

The conclusion: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there are no effective modalities, only effective therapists. If you can’t work on yourself, if you aren’t woman or man enough to tell your client that YOU are both the Source and block to their healing, then you shouldn’t be in this business.

The reason that most healers don’t have 20% let alone my 100% success is not because they use the wrong modality or technique, it’s because they haven’t been intimate with themselves.

The secret to my success I think has been to surround myself with people that are more than happy to point out my faults, and make me work on them. Please be wary of healing “gurus” who surrounded by fawning acolytes. They don’t work on their stuff. That’s why the healing teachers I have known have all lost their ability to do miracles after becoming famous. That’s why all my former teacher got so sick.

These are just my thoughts, I had to share them with you.

Stand by for the coherence work, it’s all happening this week.

Blessings

Simon

P.S. I still work glasses driving home tonight, but don’t worry I’ll be working on it this week. I can see my secondary gain now.

  1. Hi Simon,

This is a Good one, I place my bet that this is the MOST beautiful article in your blog so far. I like it so much, even you have put the same idea in another entries.

I have been in spiritual path for 16 years so far, I keep myself learning and learning, but finally, I found i am tired of learning “better technique” that can heal better, instead, I look for consciousness (or in your term: beingness) that heal.

Whenever I face a clients that is difficult to heal, I know it is time to go back to myself, to see what is actually within me. It is hard to admit, but that really sound resonate with me that it is time to face ourselves on our issues.

Interesting is, whenever we shifted ourselves, the clients can shift easily.

Feel so proud of you that you work through this and say it to the public.
I think it is the most important message we all need hear.

    Blessing!

  2. Simon,

Wow, I am blown away by your honesty in this entry you wrote. That you are able to admit these things, it’s not an easy thing to say. I totally agree with Kryon (above), this is such a beautiful article. I really admire you for this. It’s so refreshing to see a leader who admits that their imperfections instead of pretending like they know everything and they do everything right. I think most people will really appreciate this article. Thanks for it.

This is going to sound really weird/random, but I just woke up from having a dream about you. And I’ve never had a dream about you before, I’ve never even met you before. But in the dream, I was talking on the phone with you, and you told me/admited to me about your secret past, how in high school, you were a “player”.Then I just woke up and went to this blog and read this. Both of them being about you admitting something that is hard to.

thanks for sharing, pretty funny. I don’t know your definition of “player” but my real confession is that I’m a total dork. The only “playing” I did in high school was with books in the library because I couldn’t kick a football if my life depended on it …

It’s lucky for me that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs made being a nerd into something cool! Our general manager Val Moore and I have in depth discussions as to whether we are “dorks” or “nerds.” We have slightly different definitions. We both get very excited by new technology releases and anything to do with the internet… and we’re very lucky to have very patient spouses! :-)

Hysterical dream anyway, thanks for sharing!

    Wonderful work Simon

How refreshing your honesty and integrity is in publicly facing your demons. As I read this blog I felt a relaxation and a feeling of humility and truth open up in the center of my being. We don’t need to be perfect. That is an ego driven motive that keeps us from our inherited perfection. We already have everything we are seeking when we let go into all that is. You have just demonstrated this so beautifully in your level 3 class and on your present blog. Congratulations.

Have you heard of or read anything by Lester Levenson the founder of “Releasing”? He cured himself of many ailments by releasing all blocks to awareness of Beingness in 1952. His material is similar to yours.

Thanks, Mariah, I agree that the simplicity that is emerging in Simon’s work is leading us back to what has worked for a very long time…present moment awareness of the different levels of perception. Lester’s work (non-work really) is what I taught for 10 years and it is excellent. I find it interesting that it all goes back to the same simple concepts! Anything that “piles on” is leading us farther from the truth of the now.

I have a love-hate relationship with Lester Levenson’s work (known as, among others: “the Sedona Method”; “the Release Technique”; “KISS Releasing”). The Sedona Method and Release Technique used to be (or still are) sold on the basis that the work was validated as effective by a Harvard Medical School study, but that is a massive exaggeration – there was never any such study. Also, whilst Lester Levenson healed himself of a heart condition back in the 1950′s he did end up dying of cancer, whilst on welfare (apparently) and with his Sedona institute bankrupt and riddled with lawsuits. His two principal students who promote his work today seem obsessed with generating as much profit as possible. There is also, in my view, this energy of negating desire and seeking “freedom” which can attenuate people’s experience of life and have them chasing “freedom” like a dog chasing its tail.

Having said that, I think the work can be very powerful and incidentally my eyesight sometimes spontaneously (and temporarily) improved when I used the technique. I know others from many backgrounds (City workers, TV Producers, therapists, medical professionals etc) who believe the work to be very powerful. I think the problem with it is that it has been turned into a self-help method, when originally it was more natural and spontaneous; people would come to Lester and explain their problems and he would simply say can you see how that feeling comes because you want to change or control what is going on, or because you want affection, etc.

  6. Simon you are responsible for my near-sightedness. I want a session very soon :)
I have tried many things to heal my eyes but I wear glasses for 16 years. Only one technique could help temporarily a little bit. Russian professor Mirzakarim Norbekov’s 10 days workshop helped it to decrease 1.75 (normally it is 2.5) but it needed to work intense exercises along 40 days (he said; cellular memory accept the changes in 40 days) and I couldn’t finish it, because the exercises takes nearly 3 hours a day and when I gave up.. guess what, the healing disappeared and my eyes turned back to 2.5. I felt very dissapointed. So I have read your article with my mouth wide open. Great news for me. Thanks.

40 days times 3 hours? Ouch.
don’t worry it’s much quicker now.

  8. Thank you Simon for sharing this particular insight with us. I have noticed over the past couple of months the amount of therapist who are relying on glasses (myself included). Looking forward to seeing (no pun intended) your video?

  9. There seems to be something wrong with your RSS-feed, this page didn’t show up in my reader, and it was only by chance that I stumbled upon it…. Hope you’re able to fix it. :)

    hi Anne
we don’t have a RSS feed as we decided we’d rather people subscribe to the blog email list instead. Can you please tell me what you were trying to achieve?

    Anne Reply:

Sure, what I get from an RSS feed is that I get updates in my reader whenever there is a new post. I’m subsribed to your bloglist also, I think, but I don’t get mail when there is a new post. Also, it is much better to get the feeds in a reader than to clutter my inbox with updates from all the sites that I’m following. This way, I know that updates to sites I follow are found in my reader, while mail in my inbox is actually email. :) I really hope you’ll get back an rss feed, because it’s much better than email updates!

(I don’t know if you know this, but you had an rss feed on your blog before you switched the address just now, it was probably an automatic thing with that site, but I wish you’d get it back. :) )

  11. I’ll just add an comment to the actual post – I think it’s very brave of you to go out publicly and say that you still have issues that you haven’t been able to/wanted to clear. :) I’m looking forward to seeing the video!

  12. Hi!

That was so great to read! This shows that you are a very humble person,im sure it wasnt easy to admit that ‘I failed’. If you have big ego and to much pride, it will just cloud your mind. If you take one step back and ask for help it will go such a long way. Like in this case where she experienced instant healing. You sat an example to be followed :) )

my apologies Peter. The student has not replied to my requests for permission to post the video. She moved abroad and we lost contact. Without permission I can’t share it, which is tragic because it was awesome.

We’ll just have to do some more miracle eyesight healings in Malaga in November.
